17 Months

We have lots to talk about at month 17! Mostly about bodily fluids. Peeing to be exact. Ever since Maggie started down this road of potty training, mostly thanks to our awesome caretaker Miranda, we have I would estimate at least one successful trip to the potty about 32 out of the last 34 days. And most days, she goes at least twice, sometimes three times.

Here are some highlights:

* In addition to Dada.. she will often repeat: WOA... WOA. in a very exciting voice.

* She brushes her hair, my hair and her dad's hair.

* Maggie loves bubbles.

* Lately, she has been in to her learning puppy.

* Baby Einstein Old Mac Donald video is her favorite! I call it the Cow video. She knows when we put go to put it on and will climb up on the couch all by herself and sit there and wait till it comes on. She reacts and chimes in at certain funny parts.

* She is in a 24 months and 2T. I just bought her a 5.5 sandals. Her crocks she got for Christmas are starting to become snug :(

* She can climb up the stairs with one item in her hand. Supervised of course.

* Food is not an issue. She loves it all. Macaroni and Cheese, Beans and Rice, Chicken of course. Apple Sauce, Strawberries,Toast, Eggs, Omelets, fried potatoes. She is learning to take a "BITE" off of something while still holding some of it in her hand.

* Drinks mostly Milk/Water.

* She runs, does not walk anymore. Runs around the kitchen.

* Lately she has been in to touch and feel books. Especially likes her "Pat The Bunny" book.

* Takes about 1.5 hour to 2 hour nap each day, consistently.

* Sleeps from 7:30 to 7:30. Give and take a half hour at both ends.

Nana and Papa got her a kitchen which she loves to play with. Often times when I am making dinner I tell her, "Go cook in your kitchen. Make me some bacon."

Over at Pap Pap and Grand Ma's house she loves to ride the tractor and turn the sprinklers on.

  1. Maggie is growing up so fast now! And changing every day - learning so much!
    I can't even believe she's coming up on 1-1/2 yrs already! I think when she starts talking, the words will just come at lightning speed. So far her needs have been met very satisfactorily so she hasn't had to ask for much, but just watch out as her independence grows!

    Love her so much!
